Small Explorer (SMEX)

NASA's Small Explorer program provides frequent flight opportunities for highly focused and relatively inexpensive science missions. SMEX spacecraft are 180 to 250 kg. Each mission is expected to cost approximately $50 million for design, development, and operations through the first 30 days in orbit. For additional details, visit the NASA SMEX Home Page at GSFC.
